Tuck in your napkin because this week’s episode is about one of our favorite art forms, food! For this episode, we are joined by Josh Ratliff and Lindsay Jo Whirley from the Culinary Arts team at Newfields. The Culinary Arts team is responsible for the fun, seasonal pop-up events, including Pop-up: Pie and Pop-up: Noodle Shop, and everyone’s favorite summer outing, The Beer Garden. Neither Josh nor LJ intended to work in the culinary industry. Josh studied music, and LJ planned to attend Law School. During school, they both had side jobs at restaurants and fell in love with the team-centric atmosphere during shifts and working in hospitality. Now Josh, a Certified Sommelier, and Lindsay, a Certified Cicerone, craft the perfect combinations of foods and drinks for Newfields’ guests. Tune in as we learn what Culinary Art is, how Newfields has rebranded to reach new audiences, and about Newfields’ plans for reopening The Garden, The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, and The Beer Garden to the public on June 25th. Drink deeply of the culture that surrounds you with Josh Ratliff and Lindsay Jo Whirley from Newfields.
